About the Crafty Makery
The Crafty Makery is a non-profit organisation and was opened in May 2018.
We offer the community of Fareham an opportunity to use arts & crafts as a way to help bring people.
Through participation we hope that we positively affect and change the lives of members of the larger community.
From the very beginning, we have been able to undertake a vast array of activities to suit both young and old: from knitting, sewing, paper crafts, and ceramics to crochet, t-shirt printing. More activities are added all the time. The aim is to help people to be together in a safe space structured towards the delivery of arts and crafts with a hope of enabling participants combat loneliness, isolation, and a range of other health and wellbeing issues. We do this through both structured and supported sessions. Above all else we hope all participants have fun making crafts and being around friends.
Our Director Lesley is an ex-teacher of Design Technology and has experience of teaching children from age 8 to 19. She is DBS checked so if your child is happy to bel eft with us for an activity we are qualified to look after them.
Everyone is welcome, so why not pop in for a friendly cuppa and a chat, so that we can see how we can inspire your inner crafting skills?
Whether you bring your own crafts or use our materials, both are okay.
You can paint ceramics or design a t-shirt.
To learn a new skill you can book a 1:1 or group session with our volunteers.
We are also happy to host birthdays, hen parties, etc.
Finally, a reminder that all ages are welcome.
